Customer Review of amazon.com vertion

By Patrick Wong (Great Tablet PC)
After thoroughly researching many different tablet PCs from Lenovo, Toshiba, Gateway, HP, and Fujitsu, the Asus offered the best combination of screen size, features, weight, performance and price. If you want a Core 2 Duo system - there aren't many so this really narrows the field. The 13.3" screen was also perfect too. the 12s being too small and the 14s being too big. In fact, you're getting the size and weight of a 12 inch system with the screen of a 14 inch system. The Asus arrived very quickly and comes packaged like a Mac system - that is, well designed packaging that even includes a carry case, portfolio case and a hard case. None of this makes for a better computer - but it sure is nice to know Asus puts some thought into the whole package. In terms of performance and features - this tablet PC does very well with no issues running Alias Sketchbook Pro or any other Office applications. The only glitch I've found so far is the screen orientation button stopped working. After checking out a few forums, an update to the graphics driver easily solved the problem. the built in wireless and bluetooth perform well and the included bluetooth mouse is a nice bonus. There isn't much missing except the built in card reader doesn't support xD cards and the battery life (around 3 hours) could be longer. Overall, I'm very happy with the R1F after a few weeks of ownership and would buy it all over again.

By Pete Phillipis (Sticking Mouse Cursor)
Have had this tablet for over 6 months and still have not found a resolution to the sticking mouse cursor. My problem occurs with the tablet plugged into AC power, usually within a minute of being plugged in. As soon as I unplug the tablet and go on battery power, the cursor unsticks from the corner and it works fine. I can also unstick the cursor by changing from landscape to portrait mode but that fix only works temporarily as it sticks quickly thereafter. Running on battery power is the only way I can get it to not continously stick. Considering the battery easily drains when I haven't used the laptop for a week, I have to keep this tablet charged to make sure it is available for use.
